So one of my top 20 of my Living List is to do some live reading poetry ( also a dream to do it in my own cafe..) This is one poem I wrote many years back and will be trying to complete this in 2012.
So heres the poem I intend to read.
Naturally, Ima QUEEN
so mean, yet nurturing
my steps are taken to the rhythm of my own beat
i am cool even in the summers heat
my hair spirals on the same axis
as which the planet revolves
i apperciate my cockiness
embellish my sensuality
i stare at my self frequently
thanking my maker for making me
jazzy and a lil classy
i enter rooms slightly and break necks
my smile has given me a reason to believe
in a better tomorrow
as it illuminates clear night skies
sometimes coy and sly
i wouldn't change a bit about me
the heat of a warrior
pumping nothing but blood
the soul of solider
who knows the outcome
the spirit of my ancestors who
made it possible for me to walk
with this pride of mine
that i dont really walk,
i sway...i stride....
